Note: A parent, guardian or adult 18 years or older must accompany children ages 13-15. No children under the age of 13 are allowed on the fitness floor or in group exercise classes. A supervised playroom is available for children ages 3 months to 9 years.

Apex Centre Group Exercise Class Descriptions

  • Cycle:

    An intense session of strength, endurance and speed associated with cycling. Apex Centre utilizes the Spivi® system which simulates different riding experiences with digital scenery and personal avatars to motivate participants. (All levels)
  • Cardio-Interval Strength

    : a total body workout to increase heart rate and build strength through a variety of intervals. Bursts of cardio intervals will alternate with intervals of strength or lighter activity. The class uses some small equipment: hand weights, resistance bands, steps, balls or BOSU. 
  • Insanity®

    : Max interval training cardio class that will push you past your limits. Features athletic / plyometric drills mixed with intervals of strength, power, resistance and core training. (Int/adv)
  • Strength Circuit

    : A total body workout that uses light-to-moderate weights in repetition to tone and shape your body. (All levels)
  • Turbo Kick™

    : Intense kickboxing + dance moves = Turbokick. The ultimate cardio challenge that is high-energy and set to motivating music to enhance the fun factor. (All levels)
  • Zumba®

    : Featuring exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. (All levels)
  • Zumba® Toning:

    Learn how to use light weights to enhance rhythm and tone target zones, including arms, abs and thighs. (All levels)
  • Hip-Hop:

    A fierce fusion of hip-hop and jazzy freestyle moves that kick, dip, bend and twist your body. (All levels)
  • Cardio Dance Party: 

    Burn calories by dancing to a variety of music styles. Broadway hip-hop, swing and more! Have fun exercising without realizing you are working out! (All levels)
  • Barre:

    A combination of ballet-inspired full-body work, low-weight resistance training and body-weight work for an intense, yet low-impact, toning workout. Moves are done on the mat and at the barre. No dance experience necessary. (All levels)
  • Cize:

    Learn the hottest professionally-choreographed dance workouts while working out and losing weight! (All levels)
  • U-Jam™

    : Bollywood and Hip-Hop style workout that combines easy-to-learn steps and high-energy music for an exercise routine that is designed to get your heart rate up, burn calories and tone your body. (All levels)
  • Step:

    Tone up your legs and glutes by moving up, over and around the step. A high-strength, yet low-impact workout meant to improve coordination by learning choreographed routines. (All levels)
  • Step & Pump:

    Utilize the step as a tool instead of worrying about complex choreography! This workout will focus more on simplifying the movements to combine and enhance the best of step and strength training. (All levels)
  • Refit:

    Uses Cardio Dance movements to tone, improve flexibility, increase strength; includes stretching. (All levels)
  • Pop Pilates:

    Total-body, mat-based workout challenges individuals to rhythmically flow from one exercise to the next, developing a rock-solid core while leaving no muscle untouched. (All levels)
  • Pilates Mat:

    Focus on developing core strength, flexibility, balance and stamina. Learn to be aware of breathing patterns and spinal alignment while engaging the deep muscles of the core. (All levels)
  • Forever Young:

    A low-impact fitness class designed with the senior population in mind. It includes cardiovascular, flexibility and strengthening segments that may be performed standing or seated. 
  • Release:

    Release the tension and stress in your muscles and mind. This stretching class works on improving your flexibility and mobility. (All levels)
  • Power Yoga:

    A more challenging and faster-paced yoga than traditional yoga classes. (All levels)
  • Yoga:

    Smooth, flowing and physically exhilarating, yoga will help you relax while improving core strength and functional movement. (All levels)
  • Boga:

    A water workout utilizing traditional gym workouts like burpees, pushups and sit-ups, but on a special BOGA Fitmat. Achieve a core-body workout by practicing controlled instability. (Int/Adv) Four-week sessions begin in April. Registration and extra payment required. . 
  • Water Aerobics:

    A shallow-water cardiovascular workout. Low impact, with little choreography, designed to increase the heart rate. Great workout for abdominals, glutes and thighs. (All levels)
  • Deep-Water Aerobics:

    A deep-water, low-impact workout designed to
    provide cardiovascular conditioning and improve muscle tone and balance.
    It is a total body workout. Flotation devices are provided. (All levels)
