Lower insurance Rates

Beginning May 1, 2014, you may be eligible for a lower fire insurance rate for your home or business. The McKinney Fire Department has achieved an Insurance Services Office (ISO) Property Protection Classification (PPC) rating of 1, up from a 2, and that may mean savings for you.

Some insurance companies use the city's PPC to determine fire insurance rates within the city. Call your fire insurance provider to determine if you qualify for a lower rate. Individual rate reductions may vary and are set by each insurance company for each individual property. Neither the city nor ISO set insurance rates.
