Water Exercise Aquatic Activities for Adults

Senior Pool Schedule

Aquahugs


This class develops basic water walking exercise skills while improving balance, muscle strength and endurance. This class is a great start for beginning water exercisers, including those with arthritis, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis and other conditions that impact activities of daily living.

  • Time: Saturday, 9-10 a.m.

Hydrotraining


This class is designed for adults, age 16 and older, and provides a balanced workout, including all the components of fitness aerobic training. This class will concentrate on endurance, aerobics and flexibility using water resistance. The water provides a safe atmosphere of resistance for aerobic conditioning.

  • Time: Monday and Wednesday, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
    Saturday, 8-9 a.m.

Deep Water Exercise


Our Deep Water Aerobics allow participants to move freely in all three planes of motion, creating a total body workout, muscle balance and substantial challenge for the core muscles without impact stress to joints. Class requires a buoy belt to be worn and participants must be comfortable in deep water. Class limited to first 22 participants due to pool space.

Aquatic Activities for Seniors


These classes are designed specifically for seniors age 50 and up. During these times people under senior age may not attend. Seniors are welcome to participate in any other activity offered at the Senior Pool, but these classes and times will be designated for seniors only.

Aquaflex

This unique class provides a balanced workout with all components of fitness aerobic training. This low impact class with moderate cardio increases strength improves flexibility and stabilizes balance.

Hydrofitness


This class builds cardiovascular and muscular strength, endurance, flexibility and balance using a variety of exercises and equipment.

Aqua H.U.G.S. (Helping U Get Started)

Synchronized Swimming


This class teaches the basic principals of synchronized swimming. People of all skill levels are invited to participate in this class. Participants work on routines that they perform at various Senior Recreation Center Activities.
