Function of the Building & Standards Commission

The Building and Standards Commission considers approval or denial of appeals of the Chief Building Official for repairs, vacations or demolitions of any building or structure or portion thereof as well as enforcement of city ordinances relating to the same.

Considers approval, denial and/or appeals of the Chief Building Official and Fire Chief's interpretations of the Model Building Codes.

Reviews and makes recommendations on new Model Building Code updates, as required.

  • One general contractor or engineer
  • One member with experience in fire protection and fire safety
