The Apex Centre is proud to offer top-of-the-line courses in lifeguarding through the American Red Cross.

Courses Offered

Lifeguarding - The American Red Cross Lifeguarding training course teaches the skills you need to promote safety and respond to aquatic emergencies. Upon successful completion of this course, certificates will include Lifeguarding / Water Park, First Aid, and CPR / AED for the Professional Rescuer. Emergency oxygen is available upon request. Participants must be 15 years of age or older to sign up.

The prerequisite test will take place on the first day of class. Students will need to demonstrate a 300-yard continuous swim demonstrating rhythmic breathing, a timed 20-yard-in-water brick retrieval, and two minutes of treading water using legs only. Attendance is required for all class meetings and dates.

The curriculum also consists of blended learning courses. These courses are hybrid with in-person and online sessions. A total of 7 hours of online course work must be completed before the end of the course. Certification of completion must be brought to class and presented to the instructor.
