January 30, 2020
New year, new library! Our larger space is open again.
December 31, 2019
The John & Judy Gay library is closed Jan. 6 - Jan. 12. During this time the entire site and outside book drop is closed and access is unavailable.
Temporary Internet Workstation Policy Change begins Monday, Jan. 13
Eight internet workstations will be available for public use. Internet workstations sessions will be 1 hour long and an extra 15 minutes is granted only if other computers are available for other patrons. This occurs automatically at 5 minutes before the scheduled end of the session. You may ask a staff member for a 15-minute extension before that time if you wish.
Patrons who need longer internet sessions, for example taking a test, can visit the Hall Library at 101 E. Hunt St., which has 30 internet workstations available for the public.
December 17, 2019
The John & Judy Gay Branch library will be closed Jan. 6 - Jan. 12.
Construction work to unify the old and new sections of the library requires that the building be closed Monday, Jan. 6 - Sunday, Jan. 12.
Beginning Monday, Jan. 13, there will be a smaller publicly accessible floor plan to facilitate the expansion and renovation process. There will be 8 public computers, a browsing collection of library items for immediate checkout, WiFi access, and limited seating. This smaller floor plan should last into early February, with official grand opening celebration plans set for the first week in June.
For residents needing a quiet study space or meeting room, access to the Roy and Helen Hall facilities will remain unchanged during this time. We apologize for this inconvenience, but know that this is a necessary part of the process.
We are not accepting donations at this time.
December 4, 2019
December 6 is the last day the library will accept donations. With the renovations currently underway, storage space is at a premium and we do not currently have room for donations.
You may continue to drop off donations at the following locations: Half Price Books, the Salvation Army, the Samaritan Inn’s resale shop, and assisted living centers.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.

We have a road! The concrete has been poured for the road connecting the John and Judy Gay Library to the Gabe Nesbitt Park. This will give patrons another route to exit and enter the library. This area will also feature an adjoining parking, so no more fighting for a parking spot!
June 14, 2019
The temporary wall is up! This wall will help separate the library from the hustle and bustle of construction. Due to its placement, this will also limit the number of people allowed in the programming rooms so make sure to register for programs to ensure your spot! Register for programs here.
