Operational Changes

Effective Monday, March 23 - In an effort to reduce the risk of solid waste workers’ exposure to COVID-19, the city’s trash and recycling vendor Waste Connections will temporarily suspend pick-up of bulky items, yard waste and Household Hazardous Waste (HHW).

  • Residents may continue to dispose of bulky items and yard waste at designated DIY drop-off locations.
  • Find alternatives to dropping off your yard waste or throwing it away
  • Notice: The Regional Disposal Facility and the Custer Road Transfer Station drop-off locations are experiencing increased traffic. As a result you can expect longer than normal lines at both facilities and delays. Please plan accordingly.
  • Yard waste can only be dropped off at the Custer Transfer Station. Residents will be required to show a utility bill from their respective municipality at the glass window to confirm residency.
  • Residents who need additional containers may contact Water Billing at 972-547-7550. Additional fees may apply.
