Internet Access at Both Library Locations

  • Roy & Helen Hall Memorial Library (Hall), 101 E. Hunt St. (30 computers)
  • John & Judy Gay Library (JJGL), 6861 W. Eldorado Pkwy. (8 computers)
    • During the JJGL construction, eight public internet workstations are available.
      • Sessions are 1 hour long, with an extra 15 minutes granted only if other computers are available for other patrons. 
      • Due to limited availability of workstations during construction, longer sessions are available, for example for taking a test, at the Hall Library, 101 E. Hunt St.

All Computers Offer

  • Windows 8.1 operating system
  • Adobe Reader

  • Internet access via Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher)
  • RealPlayer, QuickTime Player
  • NVDA screen reader for the blind and vision impaired 


  • Printing: $.15 per page for black and white and $.25 per page for color
  • Headphones available for $3
  • Self-service scanning and faxing (for sending only, not receiving) available at each library location

Requirements for Use

Access to the internet computers at each library requires either:

  • McKinney Public Library cardholders: a valid McKinney Public Library card
  • Visitors: a one day guest pass

Guidelines for Use


Internet computers are available during regular Library hours, but automatically shut down fifteen minutes before the Library closes. The hours for internet computer use at both libraries are:

  • Sunday: 1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
  • Monday - Thursday: 10 a.m. to 8:45 p.m.
  • Friday - Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.


Free Wi-Fi access is available at both library locations.
