Do you have a love of the theater but a healthy dose of stage fright? Always wanted to be an attorney or judge and try a big case but didn’t pass the bar? Are you a Collin County history buff with a passion to share with others? We have an opportunity for you!

McKinney Performing Arts Center is pleased to offer the following unique volunteering options. By volunteering at MPAC, you’re helping promote the arts in McKinney and the Dallas Metro area and assisting local arts groups in enhancing the quality of life for North Texas residents.

Event Managers / UshersDuties would be taking tickets, giving directions, handing out programs, staffing the Will Call / Ticket Sales table and being knowledgeable about emergency evacuation procedures. Instructions and training materials are provided. Amount of time needed: four hours per event, primarily nights and weekends.
Merchandise and ConcessionsDuring events held at MPAC, artists and local groups may have merchandise and refreshments may be served. Volunteers would set-up, handle cash, maintain the selling areas and put away unsold refreshments or merchandise. Amount of time needed: four hours per event, primarily nights and weekends.
Community Marketing Outreach VolunteersMPAC is looking for volunteers to help represent MPAC during various community events such as Dickens on the Square, Artwalk, The Ice-Cream Social and other programs held in McKinney. Responsibilities might include selling tickets, handing out flyers or interacting with the community on behalf of MPAC. Amount of time needed: varies, but primarily nights and weekends.
DocentsMPAC is an operating facility with multiple simultaneous events at the same time as groups request tours. Docents provide guided tours throughout the building, give directions and assist patrons during events. Amount of time needed: four hours per shift, weekdays, nights and weekends.
Marketing Distribution VolunteersMPAC is looking for volunteers to help distribute posters, flyers and other information monthly to various locations and businesses in the McKinney and Dallas Metro area. This can also include compiling marketing materials like brochures, mailing labels, packets, etc. A specific route and materials will be assigned to each volunteer. Amount of time needed: 2-8 hours a month; requires some daytime hours.
Community Calendar VolunteersMPAC could use 2-4 volunteers to help research and maintain MPAC’s presence on the various Community Calendars in the Dallas Metro area. Duties would include: Researching local community calendars, submitting and maintaining our calendar of events. Reviewing all media-type websites and other associations and organizations that promote the local arts. Amount of time needed: 2-8 hours a month. Hours are flexible. Internet access and skills required.
