Radiological Terrorism

Terrorism is the use of force or violence against persons or property in violation of the criminal laws of the United States for purposes of intimidation, coercion or ransom. Radiological terrorism uses a radiological dispersion device (RDD), which is also known as a dirty bomb or dirty nuke. This device creates an explosive piece of equipment, such as a bomb, with radioactive material. The radioactive materials in an RDD are widely used in medicine, agriculture, industry and research and are easier to obtain than other higher grade materials, putting the City of McKinney at risk of such an attack.
