Wild Adventures on the Farm (All Ages)

Thursday, June 24, 2021

Yee-haw, we’ve turned the parking lot into a farm! Round up the family to learn about (and pet!) real farm animals, hear from experts about farming past and present, and discover ways in which people are growing food using sustainable farming methods. We guarantee an a-maize-ing time!

• 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Join in on a farm animal scavenger hunt, plant your own seeds, try out the farm sensory bin, and add to the chalk flower garden. Come see our farm science displays and historical farming items provided by the Heritage Farmstead Museum.

Oba Farms Petting Zoo and Cathy’s Critters
Meet, pet and feed rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, sheep, chickens and more. Take a pony ride, meet a mini-horse and say hello to a llama!

Collin College Agricultural Department
Join Christina from the Collin College Agricultural Department to learn about different types of seeds and then create art with them!

• 11:00 a.m. - Collin County Hobby Beekeepers Association
Beekeeping is an inexpensive hobby that helps to replenish and sustain our great pollinator, the honey bee. Learn how to get started from Master Beekeeper Shannon LaGrave while you peer into a bee observation hive with live bees!

• 1:00 p.m. - D&L Farm and Home
You can raise chickens in your own backyard! Find out how from the experts at McKinney’s own hometown feed and supply store.

This is a come and go event. No registration is required.
