COVID-19 VACCINE: On January 28, the City of McKinney Vaccine Hub finished administering it’s week seven vaccine allocations. To date, 5,600 doses have been allocated and 6,038 doses have been administered. Moderna vaccine vials allocated are sent with enough vaccine to get 10 doses out of each vial, however, the McKinney Fire Department has been able to get 11 doses out of most vials. This extra dose per vial accounts for the additional doses administered compared to what was allocated.
The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has announced the following vaccine allocations for Collin County for week eight (the week of February 1).
The City of McKinney is working with Collin County Health Care Services to begin scheduling appointments for those on the Collin County Vaccine Waiting List. These vaccinations are given by appointment only. The city will contact you if you can be accommodated in this round.
The McKinney Fire Department Vaccine Hub began vaccinations at the McKinney Independent School District football stadium. This is a coordinated effort that involves multiple organizations and partnerships. The Vaccine Hub anticipates vaccinating over 1,000 people per day at this location when vaccine supply becomes more readily available.
The Texas Department of State Health Services website provides information on vaccine allocation, distribution, plan phases, and vaccine provider locations. If you fall into the phase being vaccinated right now (currently Phase 1A and 1B), you can find local entities with vaccines on this DSHS map. It's important to note that not all of these locations are vaccinating the general public.
