Tracy Rath was elected to City Council as an At Large member in 2015. She was selected as Mayor Pro Tem in 2018.
Over the years, Councilwoman Rath has worked with and chaired many McKinney community organizations, committees, non-profits and boards. She also worked for a time as a city employee overseeing the rehabilitation of the Historic Collin County Courthouse into the McKinney Performing Arts Center.
Years of serving in different professional capacities, most recently as Executive Director of the Minuteman Disaster Response Foundation, taught Councilwoman Rath the importance of communicating and building partnerships. She understands city processes, the value of seeking input, transparency and the importance of doing research before making decisions
Councilwoman Rath is a graduate of Leadership McKinney, Citizens Police Academy, Citizens Fire Academy and
Citizens Emergency Response Team
Councilwoman Rath and her husband Curtis have been McKinney residents more than 25 years. They have two children – Taryn manages a law firm in Frisco, and Trenton is serving in the Navy, currently stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.
