How can I renew my items?
Library materials check out for two weeks at a time and are set to automatically renew up to three times unless they are put on hold by another patron. To see the renewal status of your item, log into the
library catalog
and click on “Your Summary.” Interlibrary Loans (ILLs), Hot off the Press materials, and items on hold for another patron cannot be renewed.
Note: If your library account is locked due to overdue items, your materials may not be renewed until the overdue items are returned.
2.
How do I put a hold on an item?
To place a hold on an item in the
library catalog
, first login to your account using your library card number and password. (Forgot your password? Call us for assistance at 972-547-7323).
Once logged in, type the title or author of the item you wish to place on hold and click “Go.” Once you locate the item in the search results, click on the button below the item that says “Place hold.” Ensure your pickup location is correct and click “Confirm Hold.”
3.
What is my password/pin number?
The default password/pin number for your library account will either be the year you were born or the last 4 digits of your library card number.
If neither of these work, please call us at 972-547-7323 and we will reset it for you.
4.
How can I access my reading history?
First,
log into your library account
through the library’s catalog. Your list of items checked out to your account is under “Your Reading History.”
Check your settings under “Your Privacy” to see how you want to set up your reading history. If set to “never,” for instance, nothing will be recorded.
5.

through the library’s catalog.
Select “Your Purchase Suggestions.”
Select “New Purchase Suggestion.”
Fill out the form and submit.
Library staff will consider all purchase suggestions based on our selection criteria to determine if the library is able to add the item to the collection. You will be notified whether your suggestion has been accepted.
